Academic & Learning Skills Assessment

Not every learning challenge is a disability—but any time learning feels harder than it should, frustration usually follows. Our goal is to understand what’s getting in the way and create a plan that helps reduce (and even eliminate) that frustration—so your child can feel confident and capable.

Academic Assessments

At Hands On Learning Solutions, our evaluations go beyond the surface. We don’t just look at the academic challenge itself — we dig deeper to understand the foundational skills and see how those difficulties developed over time. What skills might be missing or not fully developed that are making learning harder?

We Look Deeper Than a Diagnosis

Understanding how each stage of development builds on the one before it gives us a clear roadmap for supporting students with learning disabilities. Our assessment and screening allows us to see not just what is hard for your child, but why. From there, we identify the most effective ways to address those challenges.

A Personalized Look at How Your Child Learns

Through our Functional Learning Skills Evaluation we are able to create a unique learning profile, which identifies both the strengths and weaknesses of our clients. We don’t want to waste your time or money guessing what programs will be effective with your child. With the information we gain from our assessment we are able to identify goals and design a program that will meet your child’s needs and remediate the weak skills.

Dyslexia Screening

Dyslexia may occur with other learning disabilities, attention issues, or alone. If your child is struggling with reading, spelling, or writing you should consider having them screened for dyslexia.

Screening for dyslexia can be done along with a Functional Learning Skills Assessment or separately.
