Cognitive Skills Coaches at HOLS help to nurture and grow struggling students in a way that most have never seen before. Excellent communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude unlock success as we teach our clients how to learn in intensive, one-on-one sessions.
As a Cognitive Skills Coach, you would:
- Work directly with children and adolescents with autism, ADHD, attention challenges, developmental delays, and other learning disabilities – helping them to overcome their learning challenges.
- Deliver and be trained in programs and techniques that combine educational theory, science, language, and psychology.
- Work at our clinic in Gig Harbor – This is not a remote job.

Additional job responsibilities:
- Implement behavior plans according to the client’s learning goals and reinforce positive behaviors
- Deliver individualized student learning plans under the supervision of the educational director
- Collect and record data on observable client behavior and learning progress
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, clients, and parents.
Requirements:
- 2 years or more working with children and/or individuals with special needs
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or at least a current Junior in college
- Due to the nature of our programs, an excellent command of English, with strong phonetic and auditory processing skills, is required. For this same reason, strong reading and writing skills are also required.
- Available to attend required training hours upon hire. These are generally 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for a 3-week period.
- Must be available a minimum of four days a week, fifteen hours or more per week after training ○ We are open Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Fridays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays by appointment.
○ PART-TIME employees will typically be scheduled less than 25 hours per week, according to the agreed-upon schedules and instruction needs of the center. Full-time employees will generally be scheduled more than 30 hours per week.
