My son has been part of this incredible center since 1st grade, and it’s been amazing to watch his growth and progress. As a former educator, I had to homeschool Valentine during kindergarten—not by choice, but when schools shut down—and I noticed he had difficulty concentrating. When I reached out to HOLS about potential ADHD, I was so grateful to learn that what he was dealing with was severe dyslexia. It turned out some of his attention issues were actually coping mechanisms for the struggles he had with reading and spelling. This helped us get him the help he needed! Thanks to their guidance, we were able to start early intervention immediately.

We knew something wasn’t right and that we needed help for our daughter. We’d tried a wide variety of things, but nothing seemed to be what she needed. Once we found Hand On Learning, that all changed, and we immediately felt good about the path we were on. All the instructors have been lovely and she enjoys her time there. Beyond that, she has made huge strides in her reading. She feels so much more comfortable at school and has so much more confidence overall. I will forever be grateful for Hands on Learning – they were exactly what we needed!

We are incredibly grateful for the support and guidance Hands On Learning Solutions has provided to Reese. Through her time with you, we’ve gained a much deeper understanding of her diagnosis of Orthographic Dyslexia and how best to support her.
Reese has truly enjoyed her experience and formed a meaningful connection with her clinician. That relationship has been instrumental in increasing her enthusiasm for learning and her willingness to attend sessions.
We’ve seen noticeable improvements in her spelling and handwriting, and we often catch her applying the skills she’s learned during her time at Hands On. Thank you for making such a positive difference in her learning journey.

The progress Hunter has made has been nothing short of amazing. Since starting at Hands On Learning when he was 7 years old, we’ve seen incredible growth — not just academically, but in his everyday life. The dedication, support, and personalized care the team provides is unmatched. They don’t just talk the talk — they back it up with real, noticeable improvements. I’m beyond thankful we found Hands On Learning. It has truly been a blessing for our family and a turning point for Hunter’s development.

We brought our son Ian to HOLS when he was 7 years old. Ian had been struggling with learning his letters and sounds for a few years, as well as recognizing numerals and understanding the quantities they represented. We had also noticed that despite his natural athleticism he had difficulty catching and dribbling a ball, sitting up for long periods of time and using his dining utensils and writing instruments.
After a thorough assessment, Laura provided us with a detailed program to address our concerns about Ian. Because we were a homeschooling family, Laura even worked with us for over two years to provide regular consultations for administering a home-based program for Ian. I learned so much during this time, and really felt equipped to be a better guide to my son with learning differences. Some of the interventions included integrating Ian’s primitive reflexes through rhythmic movements, using the Barton method for reading and spelling, and a math curriculum that Laura and some of her staff have developed, as well as many other modalities.
Over the past 6 years, Hands on Learning Solutions has shown up for us time and time again. We have utilized the home-based consultations during some seasons, and relied on several hours a week of tutoring on-site during other seasons. Laura and the staff at Hands On Learning Solutions have consistently exceeded our expectations. Laura has a true gift for seeing the needs of the student; her commitment to helping young people fulfill their potential is admirable and inspiring. The staff is well-trained and shares her passion for working with the kids. Ian is 13 now and has made leaps and bounds of progress with both reading and math, and no longer struggles with his early coordination challenges. We are so grateful to HOLS for coming alongside us in our educational journey!

I wanted to let you guys know that Corbin has graduated 7th grade and he graduated with a 3.5 GPA and he received the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement! This is a huge accomplishment for him and it is due partly to his hard work and determination, but also to the many individuals supporting him over including HOLS which has played a major role in helping with his academic achievements. Thank you to his specialists at HOLS, we appreciate you and what you do and how you helped make learning “fun” for Corbin. They provided him with tools that allowed him to succeed in an environment that is difficult for his brain to navigate! Thank you all-we appreciate you!!
